Some background
In 2011, my training began with the Metanoia Institute spanning multiple therapeutic modalities (Humanistic Counselling Diploma and BSc in Reflective Practice). Recently, I haveintegrated working with subtle energy, earning a Diploma in Energy Psychotherapy (2021). These methods are a deeper way of working with clients where appropriate. Despite being simple and gentle, these techniques can be highly effective to help calm the nervous system, connect with rooted old beliefs, let go of behaviour that no longer serves and feel more empowered.
With over 14 years in therapeutic practice, I value each and every client's individual story, committing to continued professional development to keep growing within the therapeutic field. I work from home in a dedicated therapy room with clients who may be anxious, depressed, overcoming trauma and/or managing symptoms of PTSD. Please do let me know if you have any questions as they relate to you. My preference is to work in person. Online sessions are completely possible also.
I work within the Ethical Framework of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) with young people and adults both short term and across a longer term. I can work with affiliated insurance companies such as AXA. It would be usual to work weekly. Sessions carry a 48hr cancellation policy.
Initial Step
I often suggest meeting for an initial session. If having met, you feel you'd like to return, we can agree a therapeutic goal and work to a series of sessions. We can review as often as is comfortable for you
There is no hierarchy in suffering and every individual can benefit from having space to enable life to be lived with greater ease. There is no wrong or right way to do it.
Have an initial session and see how you feel. There is no need to commit unless you feel there is value in coming again. Beyond an initial session, it would be usual to work weekly for an agreed period at a regular time.
Individual therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes long.
I am fully trained and experienced. I am registered with and accredited by the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). They are one of the main counselling accreditation bodies in the UK and I adhere to their code of ethics. Regardless of training, it is important to feel at ease and only by meeting, will you gain a sense of whether the relational aspect of the therapy is right for you.
There are multiple ways to evaluate the benefit of sessions. Reviewing how we are working is an ongoing process to ensure we work towards agreed therapeutic goals.
